Using USB charger 1.2 as a replacement charge port on a tabl

So I picked up the USB charger 1.2 to use as a replacement for a damaged charging port on a tablet. It works fine other than Android is no longer able to detect battery percentages and is stuck around 58% even when fully charged. Not a big deal but my question is if I plug a USB cable into the normal port on the tablet can it damage the USB charger version 1.2 or wouldn't even work at all? I only ask because I just now realized that I don't want to connect my tablet to my computer if it could damage the chip.

In addition I thought I'd add that the tablets USB port does work just does not stay connected very well and is poor for charging. I don't have the skill to fix the USB port on the tablet so I went with the USB charger chip to bypass it.

You probably don't want to connect the USB cable to the computer and the USB cable that charges the LiPo at the same time. You should be able to use them one at a time though.
