Hi,
Not too long ago I purchased the following products:
Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board - WAV/OGG Trigger with 16MB Flash PID: 2220
Adafruit Mono 2.5W Class D Audio Amplifier - PAM8302 PID: 2130
In my project there is no button wired to pin 1 on the soundboard (the only one I'm using); it is continuous to ground. Audio plays constantly while the device is powered which is the desired effect. Currently this works great but I have to connect it to my laptop if I want it to play a different file first. I'd like to play a random file each time the device is powered. I've made sure my files are named properly (T01RAND0.ogg, T01RAND1.ogg, etc.) but it plays them in the same order each time. What else can I try?
Thank you!

How many files are you using? I've never had a problem with the RAND function but it's not a true random in that it will play one of each file first before repeating.
For example, if you have four files it might go in the following order 1,3,4,2 and then 3,4,1,2. But it will never go 1,2,2,4,3,1,3 etc.

Yep, aware of this and that's fine. I've been testing with 5 files. It seems to play them in a random order (let's say 2-4-5-3-1 for example) but it plays them in that same order each time it's powered up.

Re: Audio FX Soundboard RAND Function
This is probably also a feature of the psuedo-random nature of this playback feature.
