Powerboost 1000C Voltage drop as soon as HDMI Display is con

Post by beacon1993 »

Dear Forum,
I have purchased the Powerboost circuit, since the description suits my use case perfectly.

The PI is a model 3B and the Display is the following: https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/4inch_HDMI_LCD

When I plug a 5V/2A microusb charger into the PI (where the display is attached to) everything works fine.
Perfect behavior when I connect two 18650 batteries in series and convert the voltage (7,4V) down to 5V.

So with the PB1000C when the same charger is connected to it and then the PI is connected via the USB Plug (YES it is soldered properly) on the PB1000C and a microusb cable the PI powers on but is stuck in a loop. When the Display is switch off the PI boots fine but when one turns it back on the PI is fine for a couple seconds and then powers off.

The current when is about 900mA on both cases (display on!)

So with the PB1000C the voltage at the PIs 5V pin, the PIs microusb port and on the PB1000C output pins are all 2,6 V.

What is wrong with my PB1000C?

Do you guys need further information or photos?

Please post photos showing your soldering and connections. As well as detail on the LiPo you have connected to your PowerBoost.
