PAM8302 Output

Post by mrboston911 »

I built he PI Girl 2 Project and everything seems to work as it should except for the Amplifier. I checked the voltage and polarity going into the PAM8302 AMP, the sound coming from the PI, and the connections to the speaker. The speaker is actually louder when being driven directly from the connections on the PI. The gain on the amp doesn't seem to help. The POT seems to be dead everywhere except for one small spot which them makes the speaker barely audible. Could the Amp be bad? Is there any tests that can be done?

What speaker are you trying to drive and can you post some pictures of your connections and soldering?

While preparing to Upload images I figured it out my issue. There was a short between the terminals of the speaker that I couldn't see till I had taken a picture. On a side not I picked up an extra amplifier which I'll add to my spare parts.
