This question is for those who have successfully used the SIM reader software
I have not made the hardware device as yet but before making the device i want to make sure my software will work.I have three versions of the program and their outputs (without the device connected) are as follows:
Output 1)
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Users\Dsilva\Desktop\New Project\source forge\pySimReader.py", line 271, in buttonConnectReader
self.SIM.connectReader()
File "C:\Users\Dsilva\Desktop\New Project\source forge\pySIMserial.py", line 111, in connectReader
res = self.openSession(self.getReaderName())
File "C:\Users\Dsilva\Desktop\New Project\source forge\pySIMserial.py", line 143, in openSession
baudrate=9600)
File "D:\python26\lib\site-packages\serial\serialutil.py", line 179, in __init__
self.port = port
File "D:\python26\lib\site-packages\serial\serialutil.py", line 227, in setPort
self.portstr = self.makeDeviceName(port)
File "D:\python26\lib\site-packages\serial\serialwin32.py", line 193, in makeDeviceName
return device(port)
File "D:\python26\lib\site-packages\serial\serialwin32.py", line 19, in device
return 'COM%d' % (portnum+1) # numbers are transformed to a string
TypeError: coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, int found

Output 2)

well its not going to work if you dont have the SIM reader kit connected.
once you build the kit, you can try again. the software is designed to work with the adafruit kit

Yes,I know that.
but i have 10 days till my device will be ready.
till then i wish to get my software bug free.
Why are outputs1 and output2 different ?(they are from different versions of the program) What could be the possible error in program 2 ?
Seeking reply desperately.

Thanks for the reply.
Output 2 is using the pysim serial32 exe.
Output 1 is using the pysimreader.py python codes.
Whats wrong with it ? Why are the two outputs different?
