DIY USB Cable Parts - Straight Type C Plug

by switchback on Sat May 18, 2019 1:57 am

This part has two surface mount devices and two solder pads. What is the purpose of these items?

I ask because I'd like to make a USB-C to USB-B micro cable using this system.
I did put one together and it did not seem to work.
After some research I found that a cable of this type requires some resistors and a specific wiring scheme.
I'm hoping the solder pads allow this configuration.

I tried tracing with a multimeter but the traces are very tiny.

Do you have a schematic? or any advice/instructions?
