Problem with the BMO055 sensor on the Raspberry PI

by Hansom on Thu Sep 12, 2019 4:09 pm

Hello ladies and gentleman.
I have bought a BMO055 sensor and connected it to the raspberry pi3 according to the adafruit manual. The sensor is connected via serial and PS1 is soldered to the 3.3v line enabling UART.

When i execute the simpletest.py script i get following error message:

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "simpletest.py", line 45, in <module>
    if not bno.begin():

i have searched the forums and did everything suggested in this post:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=96471

unfortunately it didn't help. I get still the same error message.

I have no idea what i could do to solve this issue. I have double and tripple checked the connections and everything is according to the manual. (I changed the rst pin from pin 18 to pin 23 because i have already connected something on pin 18, but i changed the pin in the script...)

is it possible that the device is broken?

Thanks a lot in advance.
Best wishes
Hansom
