[request] TMR sensor breakout board

by markg85 on Sat Sep 14, 2019 8:27 am

Hi,

TMR sensors are a new kind of sensor (since a few years) that are used to detect a magnetic field.
They have an absurdly low power consumption (~200 nano amps!).

You can find quite a few companies producing these sensors, but the ones i found that are also available (say on digikey) are those from Cota Technology: https://www.cotorelay.com/products/magn ... -switches/

Now their chips have a fairly small voltage range (2.7 - 3.6v) which might be somewhat of an issue for some.
But then again, using this sensor only requires 1 decoupling capacitor as extra component.. Nothing else.

The chinese folks: http://www.dowaytech.com/en/sensor/switch_sensors.html have much more sensor variety and a much larger voltage range.

I hope Adafruit could consider making a breakout board with this sensor. With a breakout i mean a really tiny PCB.

Cheers,
Mark
