Adafruit Micro Lipo - USB LiIon/LiPoly charger

by billb0169 on Tue Sep 17, 2019 5:20 am

Hi,

I'm using the micro lipo charger to charge a 2000mAh battery and noticed on the product page that it can be modified to charge faster (500mA mode) by soldering closed the jumper on the back. Is there any video or documentation explaining exactly how to do this? Don't want to solder the wrong thing and destroy the charger. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

There are two pads near the USB connector labelled "500mA". You need to bridge them somehow to enable 500mA charging (only for batteries >= 500mAh). Because I sometimes need to charge smaller batteries, I soldered a slide switch to mine.
