LiPo Charger, multiple batteries?

by deventer on Fri Jul 02, 2010 12:04 pm

Would this charger work on charging two or more lithium battery packs in parallel?

My thought is for simplicity stringing 3.7 packs together in series to run the arduino off the 2.1mm jack rather than building a 3.7 to 5v regulator. (an idea which might have its own problems)

Multiple cell LIPOs require a different charging strategy ... you definately don't want to plug in a multi-cell battery in a single cell charger since you need to worry about balancing the charge levels, etc. The MCP73833 is strictly single-cell.
