Audio FX Sound Board can't be detected by computers

by Colbym on Thu Aug 13, 2020 7:08 pm

A few weeks ago, I had purchased the 'Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board - WAV/OGG Trigger with 16MB Flash'. I had gone through and created the sound file that I wanted to put on the board, but when I connected the board with a USB to micro-USB cable, nothing had popped up on my computer as a new device. Both the red light and green power light had lit up on the board, although looking at the forum it appears that only the green light is supposed to. I have tried aver 10 different micro-USB cables that I had, as well as buying one that specifically said it is a data cable, so I'm fairly confident that it is not the cable. I have also plugged it into two different computers that I know work, as I had tested the ports previously with a USB thumb drive. I don't know if I am missing something, or if the board just might be defective. Any tips or advice is helpful, thanks.
