M5Stick-C - what current can the +5V supply?

Post by pthompson509 »

Hi Folks,

I want to run some LEDs off of the M5Stick-C +5V, but I can't find the current limit. Any hints?

Cheers, Peter

The ESP32's GPIO pins can deliver about 5mA. That's enough to run a single LED at reasonable brightness.

If you want more power, you'll probably need to use an LED driver with an external power connection:

Thanks for your reply. 5mA from the GPIO should be enough to drive the NeoPixel string, so I'm not worried about that.

What I *AM* worried about is how much current the +5V line can deliver.
