Issues with Simple RF T4 Receiver - 315MHz Toggle Type PRODU

Post by htmagic »

I purchased a Simple RF T4 Receiver - 315MHz Toggle Type PRODUCT ID: 1097 unit to interface with a Circuit Playground Express (CPX)/Crickit combo.
I'm using the D0 and D1 pins to interface with the I/O pins on the Crickit board.
I also have a ground to complete the D0/D1 signals in the I/O pin header.

I'm using the 5V + from the Drive header on the Crickit board.
The ground is coming from the GND header on the Motor header.
I have 2 wires there, one for the I/O pins ground and the other to the GND on the receiver board.

The issue is that the receiver does not seem to operate.
Originally, I thought the original board was dead and I ordered a replacement.
Neither board works. Searching around the forum, I noticed others had issues.
LEDs connected to the output pins (D0, D1) on the receiver do not light.

A tip from the forum, suggested to connect an LED to the VT pin.
The LED on the VT pin does light every time a signal is received.
Just no LEDs light on the D0, D1 pins on the receiver.
A RC receiver from Alibaba works perfectly and triggers the I/O pins on the Crickit combo.
That receiver also has a pairing button and an LED.
But none of the Adafruit boards seem to work.
And I was careful to use a 5V supply from Adafruit.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Actually, I tried a toggle type board and a momentary type board from Adafruit and they all do not light an LED at the D0, D1 pins.
I'd like to be able to use these boards but until I get a fix, I can't.
