What would you recommend in terms of battery reverse polariz

Does Adafruit's bq24074 feature built-in protection for battery reverse polarization? Do I need to figure out how to wire up my own reverse polarity safety schematic on top of the bq24074?

It does not have reverse polarity protection. LiPo charge controllers typically do not, since the additional circuitry interferes with monitoring of the charge state.
