5883 mag sensor

by Dr_Quark on Wed Jun 16, 2021 1:37 pm

I'm using the Adafruit libraries. When I check for the presence of the sensor with mag.begin(), it seems present. But when I try to read data using mag.getEvent(&event), the code freezes.

In wiring up the I2C connection, I note that the order of the pins is different than on the usual RTCs or LCDs and have wired according to what is printed on the GY-271 board. I have had this code work on a previous breadboard (using an Arduino Nano, same as now), so I'm at a loss of how to troubleshoot further.

What sketch are you running? Are you checking the return from the call to begin() to make sure it's true?

After about three hours of looking at every angle, it was a solder joint. I am looking for my tablets, left over from the U-2 program.

(for those too young to make the association, they are cyanide)
