Analog two axis joystick with select…defective?
I got one of the analog joysticks today and I’m trying to determine if I’m misunderstanding it or if it’s defective. It says it’s equivalent to two 10k pots one on each axis. But when I measure xout or yout vs ground, I get 0-4K on one side and 4-5k on the other for a total range of 0-5k instead of the expected 0-10k. I don’t have it attached to any circuit, just looking at the individual pins on a multimeter.

Just try to use it with an example sketch as well.
Or connect a battery or power supply to GND and VCC, and measure how the voltage on X and Y behave.
Is it possible that you somehow measured both resistors in parallel?

I don’t plan to use it with an arduino or power, I’m trying to use the two 10k pots.
