Need Suggestions For A Screen Display

I am considering a project that would display speed on large enough numbers that the speed may be easily observed at a distance of 15 feet. Color would be nice but not required. I am thinking of using the Adafruit GPS module for speed (altitude, direction would be nice additions) but I am not at all sure what I should use for a screen. I want to use an Arduino as the base of the device. Any suggestions?
