Newbie INA 260 voltage and current measurement

Post by GrahamWillsher »

Hi,
Please excuse the simple question from a newbie.

I am trying to use the INA260 to measure both the voltage and current at the same time that is coming from a small solar panel (to prove proof of concept), but am having issues connecting it correctly and getting meaningful readings. The INA260 is connected to an Arduino Nano IOT.

The grounds of both chips are linked and the INA260 is powered by the Arduino 3v3 pin,
SCL and SCA are linked between both chips.
+ve from the solar panel is connected to the screw in +ve connection and the -ve to the common ground. As per a pervious post on a voltage subject. Which gives the voltage reading using the INA260_test code for arduino.

My question is how do I wire this so that I can get the current readings at the same time?

Thanks for any help,

Graham.

What is being powered by the solar panel? There is no current flow without a load. You need to connect your load between the VIN- terminal of the INA260 and GND.

Thanks for your help with this. Getting both current and voltage readings now.

Thanks Graham.
