Hi!
I am playing with the Adafruit MiniBoost 5V @ 1A - TPS61023 (PRODUCT ID: 4654) and I noticed something unexpected.
I am trying to understand how to design DC boost also so I am interested to understand :)
I powered the breakout thanks to a DC power supply (chaging it manually from 3.5 to 4.2V, max current always set to ~4 to 5 amps), and connected the Vout to a variable load (from 100mA up to ~1.2A current to test the behaviour).
When no load or light load, the output voltage is stable to a little above 5V as expected.
I noticed that above a certain current draw from the load starting from below 1A (maybe 500mA or so, not sure), the voltage output of the breakout is decreasing quiet a lot down to 4.2V (not sure of this number, but noticeably lower than 5V).
I am sorry I didnt take note on all the values! I could test it again later.
I am not using professional tools to measure all this, but a "cheap" power supply and variable load.
I thought that up to around 1A at least follwoing the product description, the output voltage would be stable at 5~5.2V but apparently not.
From a general aspect, is this a normal behaviour and why?
Thanks!!

Re: Adafruit MiniBoost 5V @ 1A - Voltage drop
Hi,
I made the same tests but I took pictures this time.
Here they are!
(divided in few posts as I can upload max 3 pictures per post)
No Load ==> Boost Output voltage: 5.05V Load drawing 0.1A ==> Boost Output voltage: 4.96V Load drawing 0.2A ==> Boost Output voltage: 4.94V

Thank you.
I still wonder if this is normal if we see this kind of drop.Thank you.
