Active terminator I2C not working at 20'

Post by SkyRyder »

Hi all,

I have tried to implement I2c at 20' using the active terminator, but the devices at this length are not being found (but are found at only 30 inches).

I have the data and clock lines running together as a twisted pair for 20' directly from the solder terminals on the active terminator.

Docs say that 100' should be possible... so it can't be the length...

Was it a mistake to use a twisted pair?

Thanks for your kind help.

I would not twist the data and clock lines together. I'd use two pairs: One for GND and SDA and another for GND and SCL.
