pager motor

Post by bps »

Hi,
I just purchase some pager motors with return springs (3871). The wires are very thin. I know I can't connect them as is to a motor controlled. What do you suggest that I do? Solder them to thicker wires? pins? I appreciate any help you can give.

What is the problem connecting them? The motor current demands are not that high, so the wire gauge is sufficient. If you need heavier wires or pins for connection to your controller, then you can splice them on as needed.

I've soldered them to bits of header pin before. You still have the problem of them easily breaking off the soldered joint. A blob of epoxy or even hot glue would help provide some protection.

Thanks. Do you know what gauge the wires are? Is it worthwhile replacing them with heavier wires?
