Defective Macropad RP2040?

Post by silverlight »

Good day to you!

I've ordered a macropad bare-bones PCB through the suggested Digi-Key reseller.
Populated the board with Kailh brown switches and plugged it in.

Next, following the adafruit primary guide - I have put it into Bootloader mode, and dropped the recommended circuit python 7 onto RPI-RP2 drive.
There wasn't any reaction from the board - no CIRCUITPY drive appeared and the oled remained dark, also no neopixels were blinking.

I've already 'nuked' the board and installed again Circuit Python 7, several times, but without any success.
No luck putting it with a safe mode, there is no connection to serial at any time.

Seems all I can do is run the board in bootloader mode, and nothing else works...
I have already tested this board on 2 different pc's and with three data USB-type C cables.

Could you advise on this matter?
Sincerely
Michael

Are you able to get it running using Arduino? https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-mac ... 40/arduino

Followed the instructions, no COM port showed up for me to select from.
Either in bootloader mode or just after plugging in the usb.

That doesn't seem good.

Your first step should be to contact Digikey about getting a replacement. FWIW I'd authorize a replacement if you had gotten it directly from Adafruit. Feel free to show them this thread in support of your request.
