Neopixel wiring with 4 cables and level converter chip

Post by Xyrela »

Hello

For my integrated trial I need to make the Adafruit Neopixel working with a Rasberry Pi 4. My adafruit neopixel LED strip has 4 cables. Is it possible that someone could show the wiring of the neopixel with 4 cables instead of the 3 shown in rasberry Pi wiring with Level https://learn.adafruit.com/neopixels-on ... -pi-wiring shifting chip. An other user showed it how to do it with a diode.

If someone could provide a clear picture of the wiring with the level shifting chip would be would be appriciated a ton.

Thanks in advance
Arthur

https://learn.adafruit.com/neopixels-on ... ep-3006461 shows/describes the wiring of the level shifter.

If you have 4 wires on your strip there is a power wire (red), a data wire (make sure you connect to the DATA IN end of the strip) which is not red or black, and two ground wires (black): one is used with the power wire to connect to power for the strip, while the other goes with the data wire to the ground of the controller board. So the wiring is the same, the extra ground is a convenience. The data/ground pair probably ends in a JST connector, while the power/ground pair is likely just wires.
