Two of my bq24074 chargers don't seem to be charging my batteries. When i connect power both the CHG and Pgood leds come on. The Voltage across the battery terminals remains low. Batteries never charge regardless how long I leave them connected. I bought 3 bq24074 the first one is working fine in my weather station for many months now (connected to a 6V solar panel). But my second project keeps draining the battery to under 2V despite good charger, I have tried 5.5V solar, 5V 2A charger and 10V 1A charger not working.
any guidance on troubleshooting?

Those cells do not have integral protection circuits, so there is nothing to stop them from over-discharge. If the bq24074 detects that a cell has discharged below the safe level, it will not initiate the charge cycle.
