DHT sensors - timing

by dagb on Fri Sep 14, 2012 5:43 pm

I am planning for a battery powered temperature sensor, using the atmega328 (bare chip) as the brains of the sensor.
Would a 1MHz clock provide sufficient timing accuracy to talk to the DHT family of sensors?
And will the internal RC oscillator of the 328 be stable enough for this purpose?
(Still trying to figure out the cheapest way of driving the 328, in terms of clock/power consumption.)

Based on the timing specs in the data sheet, I would expect that it can be done. The library hasn't been tested at that speed and might require a little optimization in spots.
