Grabbed a pack of 1/4W 2k OHM @ 2%.
Does it matter which way the resistor is orientated?
Looks like red red black orange.

Resistor orientation does not matter.Does it matter which way the resistor is orientated?
That is not a valid color code.Looks like red red black orange.
Red Red Black Gold is a valid code, but it would be only 22 ohms.
2K ohms should be Red Black Red Gold.

Perhaps red black red red, or red red black red?

Re: Adding resistor to USB LiPoly Charger
Hi Rawfuls,
Since these are 2% resistors
first & second bands; red & black represent first two digits of the value
third band; red represents the number of "0"s following the first two digits
forth band; red represents the 2% tolerance.
It becomes difficult to print color bands on higher accuracy resistors
so manufactures have resorted to simply printing the numerals.
Good Luck, John

They can have 4 color bands (5%, 10% & 20% tolerance have 3 bands)rawfuls wrote:Grabbed a pack of 1/4W 2k OHM @ 2%.
would be correct.rawfuls wrote:Perhaps red black red red

Re: Adding resistor to USB LiPoly Charger
Went ahead and popped the resistor in.
Guess it's time to kill the battery and see how fast the recharge takes
