Buzzy USB speaker

Post by stingray »

I just ordered and receieved a pair of these USB powered speakers here: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1363

Unforunately whenever I plug them in to any USB source (I tried computers and an iPhone wall power supply), they make a fairly loud white static noise which sounds rather like a radio tuned to no station. Adjusting the volume dial on the cord does not turn down the volume of the static, which is present whether or not the stereo plug is connected to an audio source. The speakers will play audio, but the "background" static/buzz remains noticeable. I think they may be defective - have you seen this before?

I haven't seen that, but it doesn't sound right. Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread and ask for a replacement (or a refund, if you prefer)
