Gemma's are not working

by ccrump on Tue Oct 11, 2016 7:42 pm

I am also having a problem with Gemma's I recently purchased, when I emailed support they stated I need to go to the forum first. When I saw that someone else posted having the same exact issue I wrote them about.

It's seems more likely that their is a bad batch of Gemma's released or the bootloader is not stable.

I purchased mine via Amazon Prime order# 105-5803404-4966624

I have a MAC, OS X 10.11.5
Arduino IDE 1.6.5
Adafruit AVR ver 1.4.9
receive the following error each time I attempt to upload your example sketches. I have not attached anything to the Gemma's other than the USB cable. (I did this because when this occured in April I was informed that I may have damaged them.)

avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f)

I do not have a problem uploading sketches to my ProTrinket or other Arduino based devices using the same cable(s). I can only determine there must be an issue with the Gemma's.

What does the red LED do when you press reset?

Look in the MacOSX System Report. Does the Gemma appear there? (as a Trinket)
