Gemma uploading, and uploading, and uploading...

by ih3grrrl on Thu Oct 27, 2016 4:17 pm

I have the Gemma V2 board that I am working with. I have the Gemma 8GHZ called out in my IDE. I have previously run the program on my uno with success but when I try loading to my Gemma, the upload just doesn't seem to stop or give me the "done uploading" message of success. Any advise?

Go into Arduino Preferences and check verbose on upload.
Try another upload, and post the trace output here

Are you pressing reset before the upload begins? Does the red LED fade in and out (not blink!) after you press reset? Do you have an Adafruit Gemma (black) or an Arduino Gemma (teal)? Do you have the correct one, Adafruit or Arduino, selected in board type?

Do you have the programmer type set to USBtinyISP?

That's it!!! Totally worked! Did not have verbose checked and didn't have programmer selected correctly. I feel like I read the articles a dozen times and remember seeing folks talk about the "usbtiny" but didn't see that it was a programmer selection. Guess I was trying to go too fast. Thanks for your help, you nailed it!
