Wiring when burning the bootloader of Huzzah

Post by diraniyoussef »

I want to burn the bootloader of esp8266. Assume I have Huzzah in hand and an USB ISP programmer (or any other programmer like USBTinyISP).
I (think I) know how to use the Arduino IDE to burn the bootloader (mainly it's by selecting board and the programmer), but how to wire the Huzzah? Precisely I mean, "do I use the pins 12, 13, 14, and 15 as these are for SPI connection"?
And is it the same when having a raw esp8266 on an esp12 breakout board?
Motivation: I read somewhere that uploading a firmware without burning fuses could be bad to esp8266, so I'm asking about burning the bootloader of esp8266 rather than just uploading a sketch (say in Arduino IDE).
