USBtinyISP bootloader burning problems

by btsprague on Sat Oct 28, 2017 4:51 pm

Hi,
I just built your USBtinyISP kit that I got from you a few weeks ago. After I built it I wiried up an ATMEGA328P to the 6 pin cable and tried to burn the bootloader. At first it failed but after tring few more times Arduino said the it was done burning the bootloader. Even though it said it was done their was still the error
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
avrdude: error: usbtiny_send: Broken pipe (expected 128, got -32)
. I still tried program the chip with a USB to Serial converter from Sparkfun which I have used with other boards but I got an series of error messages
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
Arduino: 1.8.3 (Mac OS X), TD: 1.37, Board: "Arduino Nano, ATmega328P"

Sketch uses 1904 bytes (6%) of program storage space. Maximum is 30720 bytes.
Global variables use 188 bytes (9%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1860 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.

Problem uploading to board.  See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.
. I don't know if this is a problem with the programmer itself, my computer, the wiring of the chip, Ardunio, so one.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Ben
