Voltage regulator pins bridged?

by nemesisrobot on Tue Jan 01, 2008 3:31 am

I was taking a closer look at my arduino today and I noticed that the left most pin and the middle pin solder point looks like they may be bridged with a little bit of solder. I haven't had an opportunity to test it with a wall wart yet (don't have one on hand), but has anyone seen anything like this before?

Seeing that the middle pin is cut off on the regulator, is there going to be a problem even if it is bridged?

its hard to tell from the description, can you post a photo of what you're referring to?

I checked it out further, and it looks like it was just a bit of solder. I easily removed it. Do you know if it's safe to clean the rest of it off with 99% isopropyl?

woops, sorry i meant to say it was FLUX, not solder. I read from http://www.curiousinventor.com/guides/How_To_Solder that you can clean excess flux off with alcohol. I just wanted to get the bits that I missed, but it's not necessary I guess.
