I am having trouble with my Audio FX soundboard.
When plugging the USB in to our computer the driver is not recognized and the red light won't turn off. We have tried multiple computers and multiple USB drives. We even bought a new USB cable.
Nothing has been done to the board itself, we have just plugged it in to our test board. Suggestions?

Re: Audio FX Soundboard - Does not recognize when plugged in
These are standard questions you would get asked in some call centers:
Have you followed the walk through and installed the windows drivers?
Do you have any other USB or other perhipials connected that may be hogging IRQ, IO, DMA channels that could be preventing the device from communicating?
Have you tried a different USB port? 2.0, 3.0, 3.0SS, etc...
Some boards are picky about what kind of USB port they will recognize
Are you piping the USB through a self powered or powered hub?
Are you using a USB extension cable and does length exceed 20 feet? Standard says 27 but, internal wiring and resistance adds to the total.
OH, and first, remove all external power from the board, then plug it in. The board will not connect, if other DC voltage is present.

Forgive me, I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to this so I'll do my best to answer. My husband is an electronic engineer and he can't figure it out.
Have you followed the walk through and installed the windows drivers?
-Yup, on my computer I get nothing. On my husband's computer it starts the process to install a driver, then once completed the driver still does not recognize
Do you have any other USB or other perhipials connected that may be hogging IRQ, IO, DMA channels that could be preventing the device from communicating?
-We unplugged everything to make sure there was no interference

-As I mentioned in my original post we tried multiple ports

-No

-Did that.

Could you post a closer photo of the FX Board itself please? Let's make sure there are no stray connections pulling any of the trigger pins low.

Sorry for the delay.
Your soldering and connections look good, but the ACT LED shouldn't be lit when the USB cable is connected. Let's try another board.
Send a note containing a link to this thread and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will get you a replacement.
