Strange. I'm getting slightly different results. This is what I get when I run your sketch on the 2.13" Monochrome eInk FeatherWing using a Metro 328 (Uno equivalent):

Weird... if you look at the fonts, also the top part is different on your display. If you compare your picture with mine, it looks like the top pixel line in the 1002 is cut away.
I'm using IDE version 1.8.3 with libraries Adafruit_GFX 1.5.6, Adafruit_EPD 2.1.1
I did the test using an Arduino UNO and an Arduino Nano Every, with the same results.
Please let me know if you need other info....

do you have a feather? it could be some wiring issue the feather wasn't designed for long wires :/

No, I don't have a feather; in the beginning the wires were about 5 cm long, but they're now soldered and length is about 5cm. Even after soldering no changes in the results... If the display is only meant to work with a feather (or there are some limitations to cable length) it should be clearly stated in the docs.
I've been working with other SPI circuits but never had problems with 20cm cables length.

hiya its for feathers cause its a featherwing :D its also meant for 3V logic only and the uno is 5V so that's not a good one to use. its just really hard to reproduce your setup - and you're hte only person who's had this issue. we recommend picking up a feather or borrowing one, it will help pare down the issue :)

I connected the display the Arduino's 3V initially but it didn't work. Only when connected to 5V I could get the results I sent you.
I think I'll return the display if it can't be used with a standard Arduino board.
