Breadboard Power Supply (part # 184) – Incorrect parts in ki

by jtgartner on Sun Oct 06, 2019 4:56 pm

I recently purchased a Breadboard Power Supply (part # 184) from Microcenter. While assembling it I noticed that C2 & C3 should be 47uF, 25V capacitors. However, in the kit I received 47uF 4V capacitors (see the attached photo). Obviously, these cannot be used. Can you please send me the correct parts? I can supply my mailing address via email or you can probably get it from my customer profile.

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack,

Thank you for providing photos. Those 4V capacitor markings sure are suspicious and I can't imagine why would even stock that part as they clearly should be 25v.

Please go ahead and contact returns and point them at this thread.

Thanks mikeysklar. I contacted returns and hopefully they can resolve my issue.

And yes, it does seem odd to get a 4V electrolytic capacitor. I had no idea that they even made them with that low a voltage rating. I guess for space constraints; as you can see from the photo, they are only ¼ inch high.

Thanks for your help and the quick reply.

Jack
