Enhancement to the Animated Snake Eyes Bonnet for Raspberry

by codeboarder on Fri Feb 21, 2020 3:40 pm

I recently followed the tutorial for the Animated Snake Eyes Bonnet for Raspberry Pi tutorial found here: https://learn.adafruit.com/animated-sna ... i/overview (which was awesome, but the way)! After fumbling my way through the python code and soldering the components together, I was able to get the solution working.

Then I decided to take this a step further and created a way to control the eyes by calling code from another application, possibly even running on another computer. The result is that I added the ability to manipulate the eyes via and http endpoint by creating an http server and updating the location/orientation variables when new querystring values are passed in. This way, an external application can call the http endpoint and change where the eyes are looking based on input from a sensor like the Azure IoT Kinect Sensor, etc. If interested in hearing more or the source code, feel free to let me know. I am happy to share!
