How to print large characters with Thermal Printer (& Fast)

Post by cqx931 »

Hi,

I would like to use the thermal printer to print some large text. (Each letter take up the full width of the paper)

Due to my use case, I also need it to be printed relatively fast and I find the bitmap solution is too slow for me. See this post about bitmap printing speed(viewtopic.php?f=19&p=708161). I already enabled the dtr but the printing speed is still way lower compared with text printing. Also, whenever I use the printBitmap function my printer gut makes some weird mechanical noise from the motor while the normal text printing doesn't.

Due to the above reasons, bitmap won't be a good solution for me. However when I try to figure out how to set larger font size, I haven't had any luck with it so far. I saw this post (viewtopic.php?f=22&t=45338&p=611129&hil ... ze#p611129), where the user talks about setting the size to size = 0x64. I tried it but it doesn't do anything for me. Has someone else figured it out?
