Thank you. That's a simple TRRS breakout, so the pin connections listed above won't work.
The breakout will work with audio signals in general, but you'll need to find where the speakers connect to the TRRS plug.
The easiest way to do that is to plug the speakers or headphones into the jack, then measure the resistance between all the pins at the side of the breakout. If you're using stereo speakers, you'll find that one pin has the same resistance to two others, and that the resistance between those pins is twice the resistance from either one to the third pin.
The pin with equal resistance to two others will be your GND pin. The other two pins will be the audio connections.
