Hi,
I'm going to buy the CP2104 Friend (https://www.adafruit.com/product/3309), but since it is only going to be used to upload sketches, I wonder if I could power it from the USB power instead of powering it by supplying 5V to the VCC header of the breakout from my circuit. My idea is to save power while not using serial communication.
Is that possible? Thanks!

Yes, the USB input can provide power to your circuit to the limit of the port to which it is connected.

Thanks Franklin. Do I need to connect/soldering anything, or will it work just by not soldering the vcc header tot he circuit?

Where are you seeing a VCC header? You would get 5 volts from the 5v pin.

That's the one I meant, the 5V. I don't need to connect it to my circuit if I have another power source, right?
