Faulty Printer

Post by Spiretop »

I purchased a Thermal Printer Guts several months ago from MicroCenter. When hooked to a variety of power supplies (ranging in voltage from 5V to 9V and 1 AMP - 4 AMP), all the printer does is blink a red LED next to the letters "D2" on the board. The button does not print a test page, both when loaded with the thermal paper and not. Is it faulty?

I'm having the same problem - did you find a solution in the end?

Make sure the power supply is good:

At 5V, it should be about 2A and must be able to maintain a solid 5V.

I'm using the power supply provided with the Thermal Printer Starter Kit, and this printer has worked successfully with this power source before, I've tried the power supply with another printer and it's working fine. I've also reset/tried a new roll of paper.

So it worked at some point and was able to print the test page?
