Mini Thermal Receipt Printer ID597

Post by JGM »

Hello,
My new Mini Thermal Receipt Printer (order February 6, 2018) seems to have a print problem. The printouts are very faint ( basically dots). It appears to be printing from the example code just not dark enough. I went through the basic troubleshooting and even the printer self test is unreadable. I've also tried a different paper roll from another printer.

Is there something else I can try?

Thanks

What are you using to power the printer?

Do you know its current rating? The printer needs a fair amount of amps:

Good thinking I missed that! My supply was 9VDC 1Amp connected to a larger power supply and self test worked fine.

Maybe you could help me with this question no one seems to want to answer. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=130648

Thank You!
