Mini Thermal Printer Not Working

Post by gjeannet »

I purchased the mini thermal printer kit.

The printer does not produce the test print at all. I used the included power supply, and when that did not work, I switched to a variable power supply and tried every voltage between 5-9. Only at 9 volts did the printer produce anything, but it was just "CP437" over and over. I have read on this forum that this means that there may be a short in my printer.

I am sure my paper is inserted correctly and that my power supply is reliable. I fear my printer may just be broken.

If there is anything I can do to make it work, please let me know.
This is the only thing the printer has reliably printed

You've gone back to the 5V 2A supply that came with the kit and it still prints that when trying the self test?
