HUZZAH ESP8266 WiFi Breakout and Teensy 3.2

by erikjelly on Sun Aug 09, 2020 12:46 pm

Hi,

I've recently bought two huzzah esp8266 breakout boards to add wifi capabilities to my teensy 3.2 and arduino uno (so they can communicate wirelessly), not realizing that the breakout has a micro-controller so it can operate independently. Is it possible to use the huzzah as just a wifi module for the teensy? If so, what do I need to do to set that up?

My very limited knowledge of this tells me that I can connect the serial pins and use UART protocol to send and receive data. Please correct me if this is wrong.

Sorry if this is a silly question. I'm new to using breakouts with my projects, let alone adding wifi. And let me know if you need more information about anything!
