I'm trying to get the NodeMCU example working on a Feather ESP8266 from Windows 10 (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-fea ... odemcu-lua). I installed the USB driver as suggested. It said it worked correctly. I can't find a COM port, either using PowerShell or the Device Manager. Also, when trying to connect from Putty and trying various COM port numbers, it can't connect. I believe that the device is getting powered. The lights flash briefly when I plug it in. Also, when I plug the batter into the battery port on the device, the charge LED comes on.
Has anyone had luck getting the CP2104 USB Driver working correctly on Windows 10?
Thanks

Re: Windows 10 and Feather ESP8266
can you check you have a sync cable, not a 'charge only' microUSB cable
also try different USB ports - there's no reason it wouldnt work on win10! :)

Thank you. That must have been the problem. I tried another cable and it worked fine. With the other cable, windows didn't seem to be able to see the device at all. With a new cable, it worked as described in the tutorial.
