10-DOF is DOA?

Post by Phil_IsIn »

Hi Support,
I had ordered and received a 10-DOF a little over a week ago and just unpack it this afternoon. I soldered the connections and immediately attempted to test it out using the pitchrollheading example. Unfortunately, it reported an error stating it could not be found (see below). I double checked the simple wiring and also just applied only GND and VIN(5v) but still no LED’s and received the same error.

Order # 1142551-4410793836
I have attached wiring pic and serial monitor error pic below

Please let me know if you will consider replacing this product or if I need to order a new one.
Thank you so much,

Check the voltage between the Vin and GND pins on the breakout, and swap in new jumpers for the I2C signals. There's always a chance that a jumper isn't making a good connection.

Hi Mike,
Moved the 10-DOF to a new location on the breadboard. I have swapped out all the leads and I'm reading 4.97 volts between vin and gnd. Still same results.

BTW: I have already ordered a replacement. Actually, I upped it to the "Adafruit 9-DOF Absolute Orientation IMU Fusion" which looks like it might better for what I want to do anyhow. If you deem this board defective I would prefer credit toward future purchase rather than a new board if possible.
Thank you

We can do that.

Send a note with a link to this thread and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will arrange store credit for the cost of the 10-DOF board.

Is that data and clock wiring crossed up?
