We are offering the option, you have to make the choice.

Re: Why WiPy?
Fair enough. But what's the use case/value proposition you would make to someone trying to make that choice? Is it easier to use as a web server/appliance? Is it because it's arduino-compatible? Is it because there's better support?franklin97355 wrote:We are offering the option, you have to make the choice.

Re: Why WiPy?
1 - real time:
Linux is a time-slicing OS, and as such, is notoriously bad at handling signals with a resolution finer than a few tens of milliseconds. Microcontrollers like the Arduino provide good real-time processing, but most of them don't have built-in Wifi support. They also tend to be programmed in C, which is considered a low-level language these days.
2 - current consumption:
The WiPy gives you Python command line with real-time signal processing that's accessible over a wireless connection. It's smaller than a RasPi Compute module, and runs on less than 1mA with the Wifi connection active. A RasPi that's shut down burns around 100mA.

Re: Why WiPy?
I can't figure what version of Wipy are you offering at Adafruit. Is it Wipy 1.0 or Wipy 2.0, the listing just list it as Wipy, the same question for the companion Wipy expansion board.
thanks

Re: Why WiPy?
We sell the version 1 (without bluetooth) at this time.
