Kit TV-B-Gone Questions
Good morning, I read on your list of TV-B-Gone Kit components (https://learn.adafruit.com/tv-b-gone-kit/parts-list) that the microcontroller preprogrammed when purchased in a kit but unprogrammed when not purchased from Adafruit. What does it mean? Could there be problems for those who purchased TV-B-Gone Kit with Amazon? In addition, the writings on the microprocessor are read badly because they are a bit erased. After the manufacturer dimel it says 10U, in the following line TINY85V and in the following line 1815T4P. Is the microprocessor okay? I'm not sure I read everything well because you can't see the writing. Finally on the ceramic oscillator (light blue color) 800814. My question concerns only the material, if everything is in order because I have not yet assembled the pieces. Thank you! Thanks for the answers, Mario Rossi

Re: Kit TV-B-Gone Questions
The microcontroller definitely needs to be pre-programmed for the TV-B-Gone to work. It is the program that contains the actual code that drives the IR LEDs to send out the TV remote signals. There's really no way to know the state of the microcontroller until you've assembled the kit and tested it. So just go ahead and follow the guide:

There's a specific step for testing the basic functionality:
