Replacement 100uf Cap and transparent LED

by agh on Sat Dec 15, 2007 10:37 pm

Hello,
I successfully built my first TVbGone but, while building my second kit, I unfortunately damaged the 100uf cap and one of the clear LEDs. I am looking all over the web where I can find placements (in small quantities - I don't need a capacitor 'grab bag', etc.) - I'm also concerned about finding identical parts to those included in the kit.

If anyone could offer assistance, I'd greatly appreciate it. It seems that Mouser's site might be the best bet for getting small quantities (e.g. 10 or less)...if anyone has part numbers for the above, that would be great!

Thanks,

Adam

The ebay listing doesn't specify what nm range that IR LED is. You need 940nm IR LEDs, as that is what all TV remote control is responsive to.

THe mouser part Number for the LED in question is 638-IR333C/H0/L10. While we are at it, THe mouser part # for the electolytic 100uF cap, is 140-XAL10V100-RC

Thank you.....
I just placed the order with mouser. I'm hoping to add my contribution soon to the enclosures thread once I settle upon how I'm going to house my kits!
