That was a typo on my part, I meant to say 'second set of transistors'. Is there a way to only use 4 AA's and not have to wire up the second batter term along the the 2 other transistors?
If so how would i need to do this?
Also what is the red LED for and if i dont solder it in will the board still work?

There is a bug in the batchpcb calculation formula. The pcbsize (sq inch) has to be rounded up. There is absolutely no fractional square inches, with batch pcb. This effectively makes the minimum billable square inch equal 1.
That is, "cost = pcbnum*2.5*roundup(pcbsize)+10;"

The red LED shows you exactly the flashing sequence that is coming out of the IR LEDs. This is why it is optional.

The red LED will show the 'IR LED stuck on' problem that can occur with weak batteries.
This is the minimum circuit for single 4xAA power. Everything shown has a purpose and is necessary.

Hopefully this works, now I just need to solder on the wires for the battery pack.
Anyone see anything wrong?

All the transistors are backwards. Everything else looks good.

oh really, i thought it dint really matter which way they went?
BANNED, I flashed the chip with your ehp firmware using just the us codes and when I hit the button the gren light comes on for a while then back off for about 6 times or so. Also it doesnt turn anything off, any ideas on what it could be?

I did try the stock firmware code that is on the normal tv-b-gone v1.1 and it WORKS!!
Now I just need to test out this thing and see how far it works from.
Is there any harm in running this chip with the normal code? Will I get as good of performance out of it?
Thanks.

It won't work with the transistors backwards.

Do you mean with the new ehp code it wont?
Because it works with the old code that is with tv-b-gone 1.1

It is compatible with V1.1 firmware (but not V1.0). The range will be really bad with the transistors backwards.

BANNED, so you would recommend me reversing all 8 47ohm resistors?
Doing this would it work with the ehp code that BANNED made?

Reversing the 47ohm resistors will not help. only reversing the transistors will.
