Keith, again, thanks for all your help. I am trying to get my kit order in to the bookstore. You said the neopixels were a big hit -- I am thinking of adding them to the order. Did you have one per student? And the few wiring diagrams I have for using them use a 1000 uF capacitor. Is that what you used? (I am good computer programming wise but not so good at electronics which is probably obvious) . Thanks

Ron, I find the capacitor and resistor are not necessary for the rings or short strips. As far as wiring just power (3.3v or 5v), ground and one data pin. You will have to solder the connections. Each student has one.
